Oh no

That reminds me I forgot to save at the end of the last... 9 runs <_<

I'm on run 12 now, should be the first in which I manage to build a chronosphere and take some resources with me.
>.<

Chronospheres are GREAT, right now all I'm doing is getting housing and chronospheres lol

playing the Command Line Murder Mystery Fluff posted on fedi earlier and it's been a lot of fun but i'm super stuck now and it's incredibly frustrating
lots of specifics about the clues and solutions
so after finding the witness testimony you've got a few clues to go on: a man, over 6ft tall, drove away in a blue Honda, license plate L337 something 9, has 4 memberships

if you grep filter the vehicles file to match the car make, plate, color, and owner height, you get 4 people. of those 4 people, 3 of them lead to "not a suspect" and one leads to "might be a suspect but you have to rule everyone else out first". I was pretty sure this guy wasn't the right one, partly because he has the same name as the criminal in the SQL game and partly because that sounds like a trap to catch people jumping to conclusions, but I tried it anyway when I got stuck and unless my md5 hashing doesn't match theirs, it isn't the answer.

so then I expanded the search by taking out the blue, and again by leaving in the blue but taking out the Honda. of those new options, i found one that would match but was confirmed out of town, two that are "only a suspect if they have a second car", one who knew the victim but has a solid alibi, and one that is a woman and thus is not a suspect "barring a clever disguise".

That last one is who I thought was the murderer at first, but she doesn't have the requisite Library membership. Also, I ran all of those through the solution check after I got stuck earlier and they ALL came up negative.

Earlier I tried filtering all of the memberships to find only people who had all 4 memberships, and all of the new names had addresses without files so I assume they're duds.

I've tried some variations on the license plate too in case there was a trick like the 9 was a 6 or the L was a 1 or the 7 was a T or the plate was seen in a mirror so it was backwards, but those were all completely dead ends.
I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO NEXT??!?!??!! THERE ARE NO MORE LEADS TO PURSUE!!! THERE ISN'T ANY MORE DATA!!!!!!!! WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO HERE?!?!??!?!?!!!! IS MY COMPUTER ENCODING THE NAMES WRONG SO I'M GETTING FALSE NEGATIVES OR AM I MISSING SOMETHING?!?!??!?!?!! AAAAAAARGH

more clue spoilers
The fact that not one but two of these people have the "only if there's a second car" comment has me incredibly suspicions but they each only came up once in the vehicles file so I have nfi how to confirm that they would have a second car or what to do with that information to help find more potential suspects or what
this is all very frustrating

solution, also cranky
all right well it was the one guy who couldn't be ruled out as not a suspect like i thought might be the case and the md5 hash just isn't any of the ones in the encoded solutions file so i'm super salty now that i spent like two hours trying to figure out what i was missing when it was in fact just a technical glitch

the game itself was great but fuck computers

This run has been going relatively long because I wanted to get relic stations and get some relics and antimatter saved up for the next reset, and so meanhwile I have maxed out Huts, Log Houses, Mansions, and Space Stations, and built a few Terraforming Stations.

I'm pretty sure most of it is that I use Kitten Scientists for automation, so I can just leave the window open in the background for hours and it will automatically build things I tell it to build and/or craft materials with a storage cap into materials without storage cap.

If you don't like automation scripts, I'd suggest at least switching on Offline Progression in the Options, and making sure Steamworks are running Workshop Automation and its upgrades, so during the offline time they will turn some of the produced wood, minerals, and iron into beams, slabs, and plates.

Also for maxing out Mansions, Reactors, and Factories, I did a lot of trading (also automated by Kitten Scientists) with Zebras for titanium and iron, and to turn the iron into steel I had a lot of Geologists working, which provided both coal for crafting steel, and gold for more trading. (And for a good rate of titanium per trade, I had a lot of ships, which required materials from automation/Workshop Automation.)

Uh, what else... Solar Revolution in the Religion tab is good! And if you can produce the required resources quickly enough, Festivals are good! Both raise production of most things.

I hope something here is new to you and helps

I just keep getting very into pointless puzzle games and then having to remove them from my phone and then re-installing them on my phone

I've successfully kept Two Dots uninstalled but I keep reinstalling Classic Words (off-brand Scrabble). My current settings for Classic Words make the game really weird in kind of a fun way? I turned off Prevent Rare Words, so the computer keeps busting out all these alternative spellings and archaic terms all the time while I don't know any of those words. It's kind of like I'm letting the computer cheat, but also not? One thing that does bug me though is sometimes they'll bust out foreign-language words in languages I /know/, but which words (and which pluralizations) and stuff they'll allow seems completely random and it doesn't let me leverage my own knowledge. Or they'll bust out very modern slang but then not know any of the slang I consider everyday English by this point.

...that and I also think it might be set to British or Indian English.
