Fashion in the World of Zoom (also makeup)

Post by LynKit »

The Labor Day sales just went by in the US and it's got me thinking about those days when I sort of feel like dressing up, even though I'm not leaving home. And I had to explain to Spouse the other day that I like my tops to not clash, at least, with my bottoms, even when I'm not leaving the house. (all his sweatpants are black; he doesn't have so much to worry about).

So! Looking to discuss ideas and fun things for Zoom Work/Chat fashion, Dressing up When you Don't leave the House, good camera makeup (I have to learn makeup in its entirety), Headphones Hair... And otherwise looking tidy and possibly chic or cute when one is working from one's living room!

Apparently there are entire tutorials on videoconferencing makeup and it terrifies me (I never really wear makeup to start with)

Honestly I'm very much in favor of simpler clothes and uniforms (not just for work but daily life), so you're more or less always ready for whatever comes up but your clothes don't get in the way, if that makes sense? Or at least outfits that are easy to put on in a rush if necessary.

TLDR dresses are good ;D

Tutorials are scary.

Lucky for me in re. clothes, I have aapprox. 20 versions of the same shirt. But I do like necklaces and the like, and after 5 months in pyjama pants I'm finding the urge to dress up.

Layering might help? Most impact in the smallest camera-viewable space. Might also be fun to experiment with some hair styling! If you don't have to worry about how it'll look if a style just droops or falls apart after a couple of hours, then why not do ridiculous stuff that you'd never do for all-day?
