Dracula having Johnny Harkman preparing letters to be send out later to fake him being alive is exactly what a Columbo murderer would do if Columbo investigated murders committed by Transylvanian Counts instead of Californian rich people.
Oh my god I wonder if someone's ever written this fic

Via @Alex:
Someone is going to do a Dracula Daily type thing called Letters From Watson going through the Sherlock Holmes short stories starting January 1st 2023 when it all becomes public domain (medieval butt trumpets all around).
Might make a thread for that on the forum too. @Bee @InspectorCaracal

There's nothing stopping us from doing our own thing now, though? I'd absolutely be up for a Sherlock Holmes read along (that please skips the novels please).
I already own the complete stories so it not being in the public domain isn't an issue for me this time, lol

Ooh, I didn't put the link in my post apparently. Here it is:
https://lettersfromwatson.substack.com/about
No, they're doing chronological order, as in when the stories actually happened, so I guess some of the "Holmes wouldn't let me publish this at the time because it involves secret stuff" stories of the last volume will be spread throughout it. Starting with "The Adventure of the Gloria Scott" I assume.
She says he'll be using the chronology devised by William S. Baring-Gould in The Annotated Sherlock Holmes, which looks to be this:

so we could do publication order first and then the newsletter? /runs
