GM logistics note!

I believe the current character arrangement is Hawthorn, Zally and Mina all in a big jam in the doorway, with Hawthorn being just outside and Zally failing to escape past Mina and Hawthorn, while Sabriel was properly in the room but came over to give Mina the twig and thus now adjacent to the cluster at the door

which is to say i'm also waiting for y'all to actually get in the robot room before I do a GM post lolllll

(no rush i just think it's super funny)
p.s.

if Zally splits the party before the adventure even officially starts by fleeing the dark cozy sitting room, I'm gonna laugh so hard

i already have accommodations in place Just In Case so it's fine but lolllll

I imagined Mina's latest move as going into the room to accept the twig, and then standing to one side against a wall - so they've moved away from the door jam. I guess details like that is good to be extra clear about in the future, in case we're imagining the scene slightly differently.

Nah I'm not going to leave. I wouldn't split the party this early. But I think Zally would at least give it a go given the weirdness of crashing someone else's tree club and then I figured if nothing happened that encouraged them to stay, I'd explore a more curiosity-based angle instead.

But Mina and Hawthorn have got the conversation going in a more letter-based direction now so I don't have to come up with a reason.

I figured, but I like to plan for all possible player actions and that one just struck me as super amusing so I wanted to comment lol

Brief GM note: despite making a bit of a joke about it in my latest move, I'm going to, in general, shortcut the whole pronoun-label system by just using the correct pronouns for a character in the narrative, because otherwise I have to decide where every single NPC is wearing their pronouns and that's just one detail too many for me lol

We'll all just assume that they have pronoun jewelry or tattoos and that's how we all know the right pronouns to use. If I decide for whatever reason that a character is being an outlier and not wearing a pronoun, I'll say so explicitly.

okay so I just discovered I hadn't turned on the dice mod for this board but I've done that now lol

first, you type your roll into the 'Dice Rolls' tab, like 1d4+1d20

then you have to click the little green door button once you've added the roll if you want to put it somewhere specific, which puts a dice code into your post like

Code: Select all

[roll=7]1d4+1d20[/roll]
you can manually type that as well - the text inside is basically just a caption, it's the roll tag and the id for the roll that are the important bits. the roll ID is to reference the specific dice roll you attached to the post.

once it's done and posted it'll look like this

1d4+1d20

it's more complicated to explain than to do lol but basically the idea behind how it works is that it doesn't show you the result until you've posted it. and i THINK if you don't put the code inline it'll show it at the end like an attachment?

there's a lot more notation available that works with the mod but that's the main notation we'll be using so you don't need to worry about the rest

edit: .... it's not showing the dice. hold on. i gotta debug this. ~.~

edit 2: got it, the permissions requirements were a bit esoteric lol it's all good now

Yeah I totally'd forgotten to turn it on for the board when I set up the game thread, whoops lol

I really wanna put in some new dice skins but I don't really know where/how to get them

hmm maybe I'll poke around

I have to try this rolling thing to know how it works before it comes up for me in that actual game.

Oh, the dice-box css class needs a bit of tweaking I think, the background-color is ruining the contrast / colorscheme.

What happens if I try to include the diceroll in a later post, can I do that?

Edit: That's a nope
