oh nooooo

i mean i definitely am still like "well this is inferior" most of the time but i can't say it makes me upset

maybe reset your bar by digging up and watching some kind of cheesy Holmes cartoon? like Sherlock Hound, or Sherlock Holmes in the 22nd Century

I finally found some of the basil rathbone and, well, that Watson makes me want to throw things at the screen 😭

And while I really like Jude laws Watson, and understand rdjs Holmes, uh yeah

omg i have such deeply conflicted feelings about Nigel Bruce's Watson, because like, i hate it, it defined and codified the whole "Watson is a buffoon" thing, but Basil Rathbone is kind of amazing as a person and one of the anecdotes I learned is that at one point they were going to write out or replace Nigel Bruce but Basil Rathbone was close enough friends with him or something that he refused to play Holmes with anyone else and I was like oh no, the meta is perfect :sob:
