man this keeps haunting me because it's like y'all this is two of my favorite tropes in one thing and yet it somehow managed to fuck it up

Which tropes

having supernatural video game abilities and

but it sounds like it's increasingly ignoring the video game part in favor of just being OP and also while i appreciate the latter is foreshadowed and thus planned it still feels like a horrible misuse of the characters involved

you don't give people-swords to already OP wielders you give them to people who have no special powers or who need to awaken their own special powers or whose powers are by forming a BOND OF PARTNERSHIP with the SWORD, you don't "reward" someone for being special by TURNING THEM INTO A SWORD who is then ITSELF a reward for the ALREADY OVER-POWERED PROTAGONIST that's just all wrong!!!!
