yeahhhh I know how that goes xD I figured you were just doing that "I have OPINIONS about a THING" that cal does where he's all cranky but it's got nothing to do with whoever he's talking to lmao
it is surprisingly difficult to find good low-res image motifs to put in one's signature these days

hey I got a question for you B

what is this "X Free Ep. Every Day" thing? and the "Unlock with Daily Pass"? Is that like limited access for the "free" tier or is it a "trial" for a paid sub thing? is the banner for the number of free eps every day account-wide or series-specific?

the site is super not clear about it

Yeah so Webtoons used to be free until it got enough traction to start charging people, like they already did in Korea, but they're not quite big enough to charge for everything. So they let you read some popular titles piecemeal (X a Day), or you can pay for the Daily Pass for a bigger number of episodes (or for recent episodes, I don't remember)

Personally I don't pay for it at all, but my sister does for a couple titles she loves. It's all very confusing, though, lol

And the vast majority of the catalogue is still free without limitations, too

hmmmm okay, I think I get it, I'll poke around some more

I asked 'cause I was reading Hooky and for ep 22 and on it says "Unlock with Daily Pass" and I was kinda afraid to click the free eps per day button without knowing what it was lol,,,,,

Well, in a probably predictable move, now that we've gotten webtoon set up again, I've started re-reading The Gamer. >.>

(I was still enjoying it when we had to stop reading last time for technological reasons, but I don't remember a lot of it and, more importantly, I don't remember how far I was.)
I've been putting it off because I'd also have to start over lol

Tower of God took all my energy and I'm still two years behind

okay, I've downloaded the first 30 episodes to my tablet again

I got an email advertising a new series, Reincarnated as an Unruly Heir and I actually super love it so far. Basically the premise is one of the most promising young Virtuous Martial Artists is poisoned due to politics and dies and comes back to life in a strange body in isolation training, masters the mysterious martial art the training cave is for, and then breaks his way out, only to discover he just mastered the ultimate Demonic Arts style and the former owner of his new body was the heir to the entire Dark Martial Artists org and also a worthless perverted spoiled asswipe. Shenanigans and politics ensue! There's only 5 eps out so far tho.

I was watching the top bar slideshow to see if any of them looked interesting and picked up Dungeons & Artifacts figuring it'd be a typical fantasy murderhobo action series but y'all I have been pleasantly surprised.

It's actually an adventurer litrpg/dungeoncore fusion - literally. The adventurer protag bonds with a sapient dungeon core artifact and you get LOTS of dungeon diving monster fighting and dungeoncore-style progression. SO much monster fights. It's great. 8)

edit: I should add in a note that it is extremely violent, which I mean, you should expect from the description, but just to be safe, it's extremely violent, lol. It's nowhere near as gory as it could be, most of the violence is just blunt impact or bloody, but there are some worse bits. If you can get through the first chapter setting up the premise, tho, it doesn't really get any more graphic than that.

There's a particular page that got a graphic violence warning on top but it isn't super bad unless you can't stand the idea of dead animal parts I guess? Personally I found the part in the very first chapter where the curse hits Stetch to be way worse in terms of visual gore but ymmv I guess.
describing the aforementioned labelled scene
Basically he defeats a manticore by breaking through its tough hide at the weak point under its wing and then shoves his hand inside the skin (not shown) and repeatedly casts fireball on the inside of the critter. So there's a shot of the dead manticore showing a big hole blown out of its side with some of its ribs showing but absolutely no internal organs. So like... yeah the manticore has a giant hole in its side but there's no guts and not even really any blood, just a few exposed ribs? I dunno why that warranted a special warning lol.
