Hey peeps,
As most of you know Worldbuilding is my jam.
So has anyone been working on any interesting worldbuilding projects recently?
I will share some of mine as well but I need to pull my notes together.

What worldbuilding stuff have you been up to
Re: What worldbuilding stuff have you been up to
I keep trying to put together a litrpg system for a world where some people work on an rpg format and the rest of everyone mostly doesn't and how that would actually work and how it would mess with social stratification.
No progress as yet, it requires Numbers, but I like messing around with it.

y'know if you ever want to outsource the Numbers part of a system, I could totally help out. So long as it's just the numbers lolWysteria wrote: ↑Sun 25 Jul, 2021, 6:24 pmI keep trying to put together a litrpg system for a world where some people work on an rpg format and the rest of everyone mostly doesn't and how that would actually work and how it would mess with social stratification.

Re: What worldbuilding stuff have you been up to
We haven't been up to a whole lot of worldbuilding stuff lately. I've been chewing on my cyberpunk fantasy setting/story a bunch lately; I can't seem to motivate myself to write on the story and I realized it's because my protag is too flat of a character. Like, I got a lot of stuff around him and about him but I haven't been able to click to an actual personality yet, which is frustrating.
But anyway. I'm also continually tempted to put it in space >.> but that would mess up the whole fantasy part, which is a critical part of it, y'know? I just really like space settings. And then I go down the rabbit hole of "should I make a new space setting/story" and then Kieran yells at me to focus on one thing at a time.
I have too many settings,,

I like trying to figure out what a modern fantasy society would look rolled forward into a space society. Are vampires allergic to other suns? Are werewolves human or wolfy if they're beyond the influence of the moon? These are the questions of our time.

Ooh. And stuff like, is it a connection specifically to Earth's moon or just to local orbiting planetary satellites? If it's the second, what happens if there's no moon versus what happens if there's multiple moons? And for vampires, what if it's tied to the spectral classification of the star, like the bluer the sun is, the more allergic they are?

Re: What worldbuilding stuff have you been up to
I while back I had a character come into my head whom I haven't yet been able to sit down and work with enough of a story idea to just start writing. So I've done a bit of worldbuilding. I ought to pull them back out and do more.
...
Okay, either I wrote down far less than I thought or I misplaced a good chunk.
Basically I had a collision of binge watching Miku Miku Dance videos, discussions of non-bad-wolf-science werewolves, discussions on oft poorly done Fantastic Racism (in which racism against fantasy race X is dropped in directly as a replacement for real world racism in a story with a, "Racism is bad, mmmkay?" moral), and discovering that between my place and our parents place a few cities over is a place I'll call, I Can't Believe It's Not An Orphanage™ (just a place where children who have lost or been removed from their parents will live, possibly until reaching adulthood unless getting adopted, but definitely no the "O" word, we don't use the "O" word because not using the word will let us avoid all the bad things about "O"s). And thus I ended up with a young werefox named Duane who lives in what was originally going to be a luxury condo building until the economy went sour and the developer went looking for someone, anyone, to buy to portion that had already been built.
(pokes around drive some more)
Darn it I know I had more than a one page text file and one page Libre Write document.
